1. Go to bed early a day before interviews. If you are not used to interviews, prepare ahead of time.
2. Keep a pen and memo pad beside you during the interview with relevant websites of your organisation e.g., www.nscdc.gov.ng
3. Be polite, give good eye contacts and face the camera.
4. Try not to gesticulate. Do not point your index finger upwards when you say e.g., ‘My Oga at the Top’ because it can be widely used to turn you into a comedian on the internet.
5. Avoid alcohol consumption before an interview. Do that later if you must.
6. If you suffer from amnesia or dyslexia, take an assistant or carer to the studio so that when you get stuck, the assistant can take over.
7. Do not grant interviews if you are incompetent. Use a PR company instead.
8. Make sure that you learn the important aspects of your job and memorise vital ‘updates’.
9. Do not take the masses for granted.
10. After a flaw. Admit that you do not know the answer to the question and apologise. You can tell the interviewer to move on to the next question.
