Nigeria’s Most Powerful Woman

Diezani Alison-Madueke
Yesterday, Diezani Alison-Madueke was ‘cleared’ by the Upper House of Tongues aka The Senate despite allegations of corruption that was revealed by the media. It is now obvious that she is the most powerful woman in Nigeria. The senate is weak and not as objective as it should be. Madueke should have been rejected but she was shamelessly reselected by President Goodluck Jonathan and approved by the ‘sinators’ of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Today, she claimed that the cabal and some multinational companies looked for ways to stop her reappointment as the minister of petroleum resources because of 'her reform agenda'. Even if Madueke 'farted' too much, it must have been the fault of the cabal. Come on; let’s leave the cabal out of it. Madueke has being a minister since 2007:

2011: Approved to become Minister of Petroleum Resources
2010: Minister of Petroleum Resources
2008: Minister of Mines and Steel Development
2007: Minister of Transport

A few months ago, a London based TV presenter openly invited Madueke on a programme so that she could face Nigerians in the Diaspora and answer questions on petroleum resources in Nigeria; that was when Madueke was allegedly ill. In order not to be wrongly accused of ‘bullying’ a federal minister, we ‘diplomatically’ displayed a Get well animated cartoon in her favour.

Now that she is hale and hearty, we strongly think she should face Nigerians in and out of Nigeria and answer important questions. Nevertheless, Madueke should not push her luck too far because she does not deserve to head the petroleum ministry again. She was more or less forced on the nation as a liability. It is evident that she lacked good performance and has not achieved much on the job apart from ‘lip service’ as a charismatic orator.
