James Becker: The Triple Writer
Did you know that fabulous thriller writer, James Becker writes three novels every year by the names James Becker, James Barrington and Max Adams? Writing is indeed a serious and big business. The former pilot has a background in Medieval History and served in the Royal Navy.
Becker admits using Google Earth a lot and takes a month to research each novel. Some nosy dullards use Google to spy on people rather than get any tangible work done. I once overheard a trouble-shooter bragging of her Google Map (street view) prowess and actually tried to intimidate her target.
Who should be blamed, the UK Information Commissioner that is unable to take adequate action against Google or the inquisitive people that usually take advantage of personal data, available on Google street view? James Becker’s interview by Sue Jackson is in the January 2011 issue of Writers' FORUM magazine. It is already on sale in the UK and worth reading, even on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch worldwide.
Children’s Author: Ifeoma Onyefulu
Ifeoma Onyefulu has taken Children’s Literature to a 'higher level'. Nowadays, publishers are trying to cut the costs of production. Some of them are not ready to pay writers and illustrators separately. Onyefulu is a versatile photojournalist, photographer and writer. She uses photography to 'illustrate' interesting African children’s stories and also writes.
During the last Black History Month in London, some of her books were on display in some children’s libraries. Her books introduce you to Igbo culture and the Nigerian village setting. Ifeoma Onyefulu’s books are published by Frances Lincoln and other publishers.
