THE RACE ISSUE AND ANICHEBE

The recent police arrest of Everton striker, Victor Anichebe showed that he was mistakenly arrested for robbery because of the colour of his skin. According to media reports he was still unhappy after the police apologized… The police may need to review if they should always honour calls by the public to arrest ‘suspects’ because Anichebe was not a bandit but a Nigerian footballer who 'earns' £15,000-a-week. After the Anichebe saga, a lot of black people were ‘scared’ of window shopping or 'neck stretching' into UK shop windows.
Shiji Lapite was not as lucky as Anichebe because he died in police custody. Anichebe and Lapite were arrested for “acting suspiciously”. According to Workers' Liberty:

Shiji Lapite, a Nigerian asylum seeker, was stopped by two police officers — Andrew McCallum and Paul Wright — in Hackney, north-east London, in December 1994 for “acting suspiciously”. The officers claimed they found crack cocaine at the scene. One of them held Shiji in a headlock while the other kicked his head: a witness reported that, as Shiji was put into a police van, his head was “lolling about”.
At the inquest into Shiji’s death, McCallum and Wright claimed he was “the biggest, strongest, most violent black man they had ever seen”. Yet their only injuries were a bite mark on the shoulder of one and a small scratch on one of the other’s fingers. Shiji was 5’ 10” tall and of medium build.

The Macpherson report on the murder of Stephen Lawrence criticized and branded the Metropolitan Police, “institutionally racist”. Institutional racism is wide and exists in several establishments in the UK. In 2000, a young Asian Zahid Mubarek was battered to death by his cellmate when prison officers were aware that his killer was a dangerous racist and still put them in the same cell. According to Maria Ahmed, “In 2006 the public inquiry into Zahid's death identified 13 failings in race relations at Feltham and made 88 recommendations.” Nevertheless, much has not been done to reduce discrimination in prisons.

Otedola escapes death

Femi Otedola is currently 601 in the Forbes list of World’s billionaires. According to the Sunday Punch Otedola’s butler was involved in a recent alleged plan to poison him. Thank God that his employee refused to go ahead with the plot. Otedola was not unlucky like billionaire Badri Patarkatsishvili or ex-Russian spy Alexander Litvinenko who was poisoned in London with a radioactive substance and died in hospital in 2006. Neither was he unlucky like Ukrainian President, Viktor Yushchenko who suffered from dioxin poisoning which disfigured his skin. Business tycoon and winner of the June 12, 1993 presidential election in Nigeria, Chief MKO Abiola reportedly died after drinking tea aka ‘special brew’.

The screening of Danfulani

The Nigerian Senate screening of (NIPSS Director General nominee) Professor Ahmed Danfulani was laughable because a senator questioned Danfulani’s foreign qualifications. He wanted to know how Danfulani earned two *Master’s degrees the same year as if it was impossible. It is a known fact that a legislator has three Master’s degrees and nobody asked if the degrees were earned the same year. So why pick on Danfulani? In order to avoid future embarrassment like that it may be better for nominees to include the web pages, names, addresses and contact telephone numbers of their former course leaders/directors for scrutiny. Many university course leaders are alive with contact information online. It is almost impossible for a graduate not to remember names of former course leaders unless he or she suffers from amnesia or related ailment. In that case, who would seriously want to employ a forgetter? You can watch the National Assembly on NTAi – SKY Channel 202; Intelsat America – 5 (1 A-5) and Intelsat 905 (Europe) etc.
*Update: After the appointment of Danfulani the NIPSS website revealed that he holds six Masters Degrees.

  1. It was better not to get too ‘personal’ so that people ‘will’ not get the wrong idea… There is something on the same topic… Are you his fan? If so, kindly accept my apologies.:)

  2. His fan ? Not in a billion years! It was the personal dimensions your raised that got me raising eyebrows. I then, thought you were probably a ‘fan’ and then thought to remove it as a result. For me, he is one of those faceless crooks who collaborate to reduce the continenet to a sorry mess as is.

  3. Anonymous writes:Femi Otedola is not a crook and has never been accused of fraudulent malpractices. If you know of any please say it. It is true that he sponsored politicians who were not in the good books of many Nigerians. In many democratic countries moneybags sponsor elections for their own interest and not for the poor e.g. UK Labour Party and the cash-for-honours scandal. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cash_for_Peerages

  4. haha @ anon,How did I not expect such a lame defence, aww! explanation? It happens in the west too…It isnt necessarily the moneyBags-sponsoring-the-idi0ts thats so much of the issue. It is the capacity of own versions of moneybags to perpetuate idi0cy, while wallowing in lost world so trapped in despicable filth.Your not-so-crook Femi, sponsors politicians so he can enjoy the government patronage scratch! subscription that keeps him on the forbes list, whilst the entire continent is one huge mess, for humanity to behold. No wonder, they say justice is only for the bullets…
