UK TRAPPED BY HEAVY SNOW

Heavy snowfall 'paralyzed' activities in the UK last Monday to the extent that schools were shut and most people could not go to work. Some schools were open last Wednesday till Friday in London. Hundreds of people were trapped in cars… Snow as thick as six inches made it difficult for drivers to drive through. London City Airport was closed and other airports cancelled or delayed flights.

People in Rothbury village, Northumberland went through hell because they had gas and electricity cut off for some hours when ‘water got into the mains’. According to the media it was the worst weather condition in 18 years. Married couples, lovers, club owners and restaurateurs are 'praying' for the weather to be better on Valentine’s Day because they do not want miss the special day. Meteorologists predicted worse days ahead with ten inches of snow.
Some people were forced to do internet shopping and wait for food to arrive on their doorsteps within 24 hours. It was not funny for people to be snow-trapped at home. This is the time to be your neighbours' keeper by helping out. Do not be selfish since no one knows tomorrow. If you have old neighbours try and ask if you could help them to do their shopping. Do not forget that not all disabled people have carers. In fact, this is the 'worst' winter ever… Winter is a poem by Abdul Nassar Palliyal.

Change – Daniel Merriweather feat Wale

winter

this winter am not home
winter at home meant
a sweet chat
hot wih grandmas love
winter at home
was a huge hug from akku
the sun of my life
winter at home
was a kiss from aysh
the star of our core
and winter at home
was a long
night with her
under the roof of
dreams and smiles
of joy and
love
this winter am not home
and the winter goes on and on……
