…,if from all indications you are getting feelings that you are not favoured in the race why would you want to go ahead against the will of the party? There is also the need to ensure peace and harmony in the party.

Senator Mamora
It is a great pity that Senator Adeleke Olorunimbe Mamora will not be a candidate of ACN in today’s National Assembly elections. He is one of the best senators that Nigeria has had in a long while. His constituency, Lagos East may have a lot to lose than Mamora and should have questioned the real reasons why he withdrew from the senatorial race last January.
Was Mamora the 'scapegoat' of a previous feud between ACN leader Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu and Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola of Lagos State? Fashola has constantly denied the allegation or any form of disagreement between him and Tinubu.
Was Mamora ‘punished’ for supporting Fashola? Well, Mamora does not diplomatically think so. He was simply ‘rejected’ by a section of the party and decided to "respect" what he called “party supremacy”. Was it based on the 'doctrine' of party supremacy?
In 1999, Mamora was appointed the speaker of Lagos State House of Assembly and later became a senator in 2003. He was re-elected in 2007. Unlike some dull senators that went to the senate to look and listen, Mamora was very active and did his job well.
As the Deputy Minority Leader of the Senate, Mamora displayed exemplary skills during debates or parliamentary sessions; some of which were broadcast live on the defunct NTAi (Sky Channel 202). He 'always' had a copy of the Nigerian constitution (1999) in his hand. A lot of viewers thought he was a lawyer but were surprised to find out that he is a medical doctor from Lagos State.
I will miss my passion for debate. The legislature thrives on debate. Debate is the hallmark of any legislature. It is the only institution of democracy where decisions are taken on the rule of majority and robust debate. The legislature is unique. I am passionate about issues concerning the welfare of the people especially when it is relating to Lagos State. I have strong passion for robust debate.

'The Moneybags Approach'
By Danielle Lobito
Some UK based African guys probably it wrong in terms of what makes a girl fall flat for a guy. Do you want to know the latest 'chat up' mode? Let's call it 'the Moneybags Approach'.
The guy comes across his fancy e.g. a strikingly beautiful girl or ‘innocent’ pretty chic. Of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder. He wants to make a statement but begins to panic in the process.
She is about to leave the venue so he runs after her. He stops her for a brief chat. He comes up with the most ridiculous idea in the world; with the hope to keep her with him for the next few hours at least.
He wobbles and fumbles because it could be love at first sight. She thinks he is attractive but his notorious approach could mean four things:
- That’s how he goes around searching for girls as a womanizer.
- He wants to flaunt a lot of money as a bait but she is not after money.
- He could be a ‘mofo’ or rapist.
- 'Alakoba', a person with bad luck that is destined to put her in serious trouble or make her incur losses.
She turns him down immediately and doesn’t want to ever see him again. Ha ha ha!
