Sunday 4th of October is Grandparent’s day. According to the History of National Grandparent’s Day, the purpose of the day is:
• To honor grandparents
• To give grandparents an opportunity to show love for their children's children.
• To help children become aware of the strength, information and guidance older people can offer
Although the official flower of the day is the Forget-me-not other flowers can be given to grandparents. Cards and gifts could make grandparents happy. A telephone call just to say Happy Grandparent’s Day is just as important especially if they live far away. I wish grandparents a wonderful day. In France, grandfather’s day will be celebrated on October 4 although grandmother’s day was celebrated last March. In the UK, US and Canada grandfather’s and grandmother’s days are celebrated on October 4.
